The Terrarium Experience Workshop is a fun, educational and interactive workshop that is held at our shop in Chicago, after regular business hours. Workshops are available by appointment only, and due to space constraints, are currently only capable of accommodating 1 or 2 people per workshop. (We are working on the logistics for another larger, group workshop, which we hope to hold in the future!)
During this workshop, you will build a complete, and self-contained terrarium, from the ground up, including plants (which you pick!), and instructions for it's future care. Terrariums are great because, when made correctly, they can last for years and years, with very little maintenance on your part, all while providing a peaceful, anxiety-relieving piece of live art for your home or office.
The purpose of a terrarium is to create a beautiful, self-sustaining, micro-ecosystem; one that can house plants which often cannot be kept in normal household conditions. The consistently high humidity levels inside the terrarium ensure that the growing environment is very close to the one that these plants come from, and thrive in, which makes it a set-it-and-forget it ecosystem!
This is also one of the few ways to keep mosses and many ferns alive in your home! Who hasn't always wanted to have a moss garden!?
