Very similar to the Ficus Elastica ‘burgundy’, this rubber tree has the familiar large, rubber-like leaves that give it it’s nickname. The difference is that this Ficus is mainly green, rather than burgundy, like it’s causing the Elastica. Same care is suggested for most ficus trees- Bright, indirect light, consistent temperature and humidity, watering when the top few inches of soil are dry (don’t let it dry out completely!), and regular feedings during the growing season. CONSISTENCY is the key to Ficus Happiness. Avoid fluctuations in temperature, soil moisture, and humidity levels, as they will react badly, often with leaf loss, and sometimes even death.
