Alien-like and startlingly cute, these small desert trees are not found commonly in the houseplant hobby. But it's not because they're difficult- just provide them with plenty of bright light, watering thoroughly when they've dried out, and a nice warm spot, and these succulents will reward you with unique flowers and lots of growth. These are sometimes called Grendelion (like dandelion), and also have the common name of Shield Flower. They form a caudex-like base, which is often disproportionately wider than the top of the plant.
