Agave plants are widely known as the plant from which tequila, mezcal, and agave nectar are derived, but they are also an arid plant lover's dream plant!
The agave family is comprised of many species (over 200), some of which can grow leaves up to 8 feet long, and have an inflorescence up to 30 feet tall!
In the wild, these guys are so tough, they can survive for months without rainfall, but as a houseplant, they might need a monthly drink from you. They key is BRIGHT SUN. They prefer full sun- a minimum of 6 hours, but preferably 12- and love heat as well. These plants are native to Mexico
